Welcome to the Treehouse

What is the Treehouse?

The Treehouse is Sheffield's first board game cafe.

Board game cafes have been springing up around the UK over the last few years. What sets them apart from a normal bar or cafe is that their main focus is board games (although they do serve food and drinks as well of course!)

When we say board games, we don't mean a pile of tatty boxes in the corner with half the bits missing. Instead, picture a colourful wall of choices, containing everything from the newest designer titles to the old familiar classics, with something to suit every age group, party size and concentration span. Now add friendly, knowledgeable staff to help you pick the right game and master the rules, and you have an idea of what a board game cafe is all about.

To accompany the games, the Treehouse serves delicious, locally-sourced food, craft beer on draft, and great coffee straight to your table, so you can concentrate on developing your winning strategy.

Our mission is to help you have a great time through food, drink and play.

Where is the Treehouse?

The Treehouse is located on Boston Street just off London Road, S2 4QF. We're in the former Bar 27 premises just opposite Aldi's car park.

Getting to us

We are just over the ring road from Sheffield city centre and a 15 minute walk from the train station.

If you're driving to the Treehouse, please note that we do not have a car park and on-street parking nearby can be limited, especially on match days given our proximity to Bramhall Lane. There is parking outside on Boston Street which is free after 6.30pm and on Sundays. At other times it's pay and display with a maximum stay of two hours. If you'd like to visit us for longer, there is four-hour pay and display on Denby Street just behind the Forge Student Village.

When can I visit?

Our opening times are:

  • Saturday: 10am to 11pm (food served 10am - 9pm)
  • Sunday: 10am to 10pm (food served 10am - 8pm)
  • Monday: closed all day
  • Tuesday - Friday: 11am to 11pm (food served 11am - 9pm)

Is the Treehouse actually in a tree?

Let's deal with this now to avoid disappointment... the Treehouse is not, in fact, in a tree, although we agree that would be really cool. However, we hope the space has some things in common with a 'real' treehouse, in that it's a great place to play and an escape from the day-to-day the world.
