What is the Treehouse?
The Treehouse will be Sheffield's first board game cafe.
Board game cafes have been springing up around the UK over the last few years. What sets them apart from a normal bar or cafe is that their main focus is board games (although they do serve food and drinks as well of course!)
When we say board games, we don't mean a pile of tatty boxes in the corner with half the bits missing. Instead, picture a colourful wall of choices, containing everything from the newest designer titles to the old familiar classics, with something to suit every age group, party size and concentration span. Now add friendly, knowledgeable staff to help you pick the right game and master the rules, and you have an idea of what a board game cafe is all about.
To accompany the games, the Treehouse will serve delicious, locally-sourced food, craft beer on draft, and great coffee straight to your table, so you can concentrate on developing your winning strategy.
Our mission is to help you have a great time through food, drink and play.

When can I visit?
We're currently in the process of securing a venue and putting in place all the things needed to make the cafe awesome. If all goes to plan, we hope to open in September 2017.
If you can't wait that long to start playing, why not join us for our monthly games night Across the Board at the Showroom cinema cafe?
How can I get involved?
Our crowdfunding campaign is now live on IndieGoGo! Support our campaign here to help us add some extra bells and whistles from the day we open, e.g. an even bigger games library and a more flexible kitchen set-up. There are some great rewards available including discounted membership deals, gaming sessions and branded merchandise.

Will the Treehouse actually be in a tree?
Let's deal with this now to avoid disappointment... the Treehouse will not be in a tree, although we agree that would be really cool. However, we hope it will have some things in common with a 'real' treehouse, in that it will be a great place to play and an escape from the day-to-day the world.
